If you’re a pool owner looking for a clean, safe, and low-chlorine water care solution, Nature’s Pure OZ3 Natural Oxidation System could be your new best friend. This hypoallergenic, chlorine-free system continuously adds ozone (O₃) to your pool to naturally oxidize and eliminate contaminants. That means less harsh chemicals, and more time enjoying your pool worry-free!

What is Ozone? In simple terms, ozone is a powerful disinfectant and oxidizer. It neutralizes organic matter, bacteria, viruses, and other pollutants—many of the same things chlorine would target. This makes your water cleaner with less chlorine overall. It’s important to note that ozone isn’t a “residual” sanitizer, so you’ll still need a bit of chlorine in the system—but a lot less than usual!

Pool Opening (Start of Season)

Before You Begin:

  • Have a our friendly water care specialists analyze your water sample any of our Galaxy showrooms.

  • Remove debris and vacuum your pool.
  • If it’s your 2nd or more swim season, remember to backwash your sand filter or replace your filter cartridge.

1. Test and Balance Your Water:

  • Alkalinity: 50–90 ppm
  • pH: 7.2–7.8
  • Calcium Hardness: 100–400 ppm
  • Borate: 30-50 ppm

What’s Borate and Why Does It Matter? Borates help stabilize pH levels, reducing the need for constant adjustments. They also make your other chemicals (like chlorine) work more effectively and help keep algae at bay.

2. Run Your Filter:

  • Run your pump and filter continuously for the first 24 hours. It’s recommended that your run your filter continuously throughout the swim season.

Why Run Your Pump Continuously? To evenly distribute chemicals and efficiently filter your water, run your pump 24 hours daily during swim season. Continuous filtration keeps your water crystal clear and reduces chemical expenses.

3. Add Chemicals

  • Add 2 lbs of Galaxy Oxidizing Shock per 10,000 gallons; it’s best to apply this at night to avoid chemical degradation caused by UV.
  • Add 2 qts of Nature’s Pure Peroxide per 10,000 gallons.
  • Add 16 oz of Combat Extra Algaecide per 10,000 gallons.

Helpful Tips & Troubleshooting

Cloudy or Green Water?

  • Add 2 qts of Nature’s Pure Peroxide per 10,000 gallons with the filter running. Be sure to brush your pool thoroughly.
  • Wait 24-72 Hours. If your pool remains green, with the filter running, add 2lbs of Galaxy Sanitizing Granular per 10,000 gallons. Run the filter continuously for the next 24-48 hours.
  • Once the Water is Clean. Wait 48-72 hours before resuming use of Nature’s Pure Peroxide.
  • Galaxy Oxidizing Shock and Galaxy Sanitizing Granular can be used to clear up a cloudy or green pool. The water will usually clear within 2-3 days. If your pool remains cloudy or green after 3 days, bring a water sample to your nearest Galaxy showroom for a free professional test and further guidance.

Why Wait Between Peroxide and Chlorine? Because they cancel each other out. When hydrogen peroxide and chlorine meet, they react and reduce each other’s sanitizing power. Worse, they might even create unwanted byproducts or wear down your equipment—so keep them separate!
