What Is a Swim Spa?

A swim spa, sometimes called an all season pool, combines a current-controlled swim lane with built-in hydrotherapy jets and heated seating in a single compact unit. You get a full-body, low-impact workout and a place to unwind afterward, without the footprint or maintenance demands of a full-size pool. With North Texas summers regularly pushing above 100°F and mild winters that make year-round outdoor use genuinely practical, a swim spa is one of the most versatile investments a Prosper homeowner can make.

Swim Spa Types Available at Our Prosper Showroom

Dual Temp Swim Spas

Dual temp models divide into two independent zones so you can swim in cooler water on one side while the hydrotherapy section holds a warmer soaking temperature. No waiting for the water to adjust between uses.

Fitness Swim Spas

Built for serious training, fitness models feature stronger current systems and longer swim lanes designed for swimmers, runners, and athletes who want a genuine workout at home without a full-size pool footprint.

Recreation Swim Spas

Recreation models prioritize open space, comfortable seating, and lighter current systems. They’re well-suited for water aerobics, family play, and everyday use — a strong fit for the active, family-forward households Prosper is known for.

FAQs

Swim spas offer year-round use with heated water, current-controlled swimming, and hydrotherapy seating in a compact footprint. Pools are larger, seasonal, and built for recreational swimming with more capacity for groups and families.

Swim spas are larger and built for swimming, exercise, and recreation in addition to relaxation, typically measuring 12 to 20 feet long. Hot tubs are smaller, focused on hydrotherapy and relaxation, and usually seat 2 to 8 people in a 5 to 7 foot footprint.

Yes, swim spas require a level, stable surface. A 6-inch reinforced concrete slab is recommended to support the weight of the water and users. Plan for roughly 10 feet of clearance for installation and 3 feet for placement.

Ongoing costs are typically moderate and include electricity, water care products, and occasional filter replacements. Energy-efficient models and self-cleaning systems help keep monthly costs lower.

Most homes choose 14 to 17 foot models, which offer a balance of swim lane length and space. Serious swimmers and triathletes often prefer 17 to 19 foot fitness models, while dual-temp models work well for households that want both swimming and hot tub use.

Yes. Swim spas are designed for year-round use, including winter. Built-in heaters and insulation let homeowners in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas swim, exercise, and relax through every season.

Quality swim spas typically range from $15,000 to $50,000+, depending on size, current system, jet count, and brand. Recreation models are more affordable, while dual-temp and fitness models with advanced current systems cost more.

The best swim spa depends on your space, budget, and how you plan to use it. Most homeowners choose 14 to 19 foot models with a strong current system, hydrotherapy jets, and efficient insulation for year-round use.
