Directions

Cartridges and Removable D.E. Elements as a Filter Cleaner

1. Remove Elements and rinse with water.
2. Prepare a solution by adding 1 quart of Pool Breeze Filter Pro to 2 gallons of warm water in a large plastic bucket. Prepare enough solution to cover filter. For heavily soiled cartridges add 2 quarts of this product to the 2 gallons of water.
3. Place filter cartridge or D.E. Element in the cleaning solution and allow soaking overnight (12 hours). Lightly soiled elements can be soaked for as little as 6 hours.
4. Rinse filter thoroughly with clean water and replace.
5. Filter elements should be allowed to dry before installing in the filter unit if they are going to be stored.

Sand Filters as a Filter Cleaner

Adding directly to sand filter through filter lid:

1. Backwash filter for up to 1 minute. Move valve to “closed” position. Drain filter.
2. Use 1 quart of Pool Breeze Filter Pro for small sand filters up to 2 feet in diameter or 2 quarts for large filters.
3. Add the product directly to the filter by removing the filter lid and pouring directly into top of filter.
4. Follow steps 7-11 bellow.

Adding through pool skimmer:

1. Backwash filter, then shut pump OFF. Drain filter.
2. Turn pump ON, making certain that handle is in the backwash position.
3. Use 1 quart of this product for small sand filters up to 2 feet in diameter or 2 quarts for large filters.
4. Slowly pour product into skimmer with pump running. Do not allow the pump to run dry.
5. Continue adding this product until the product begins to come out of the backwash port.
6. Shut OFF at once, move handle to “closed” position.
7. Allow the filter to soak for 12 hours or overnight.
8. Next day, backwash until backwash water is clean and no foam is visible. Turn pump OFF and set to valve to rinse position.
9. Next, turn pump ON and allow rinse for about 2 minutes.
10. Turn pump OFF and set valve to filter position.
11. Return filter to normal operation.

Sand and D.E. Filters as a Backwash Aid

Sand Filters

1. Turn pump Off and set valve to backwash position.
2. During backwash, slowly add Pool Breeze Filter Pro to Skimmer.
3. Use 1 quart of this product for sand filters up to 2 feet in diameter or D.E. filters 1 foot in diameter. Use 2 quarts for large filters.
4. Backwash until the back wash water is clean and no foam is visible.
5. Turn pump OFF and set value to rinse position and turn pump ON and allow rinse for about 2 minutes. Turn pump OFF and set valve to filter position.
6. Return filter to normal operation.

D.E. Filters

4. Turn pump OFF and set valve to filter position.
5. Add D.E. per manufacturer’s recommendation and return filter to normal operation.
