Pool FAQs

There are a lot of factors in selecting the right pool for your backyard. The most common things to consider are: access, size of space, slope, ground material and local building requirements. One of our pool specialists can go through each of these with you to help determine the best type / size pool for you.

We typically recommend accommodating for 6’ around the entire pool is the best starting point.  From there, one of our pool experts will be able to help determine what will fit best in your particular situation.

That does depend on the pool. Most above ground pools are built in a day. Semi inground pools are on average 3-5 days. An inground pool takes 6- 8 weeks on average. All of these pools are subject to weather and installation delays.

Maintenance is based on usage and environmental factors, but most customers spend about an hour a week on maintenance.

We travel 120 miles from the closest store for Above Ground and Semi-Inground pools. We travel 90 miles within our home states for Fully Inground pools.

The best system would depend on your particular situation. We offer several different systems based on your individual needs. Most of our customers prefer the low maintenance and low chlorine of our Natures Pure mineral purification system.

Depending on the pool and location, the requirements may change. Speaking with a Galaxy Representative will be the best way to determine what will be required at your home.

Pool pricing is based on several factors. Type of pool, installation requirements, options, etc. A Galaxy representative will be able to answer this for you once they determine your situation and what type of pool will be best for you.

Algae is the most common cause, but metals can also turn the water green. Bringing a sample to our store to test is the quickest way to determine why your water is green.

This can be caused by several factors including: bather load, rain, debris, lack of oxidation and water chemistry. Bringing in a water sample to test is the quickest way to determine which is the most likely cause of the problem.
